Good Day

I went to church this morning. I accepted a nomination to be the assistant Sunday School teacher of a class that I joined 3 weeks ago for the next year. I went to the lake. I came home, thawed chicken, and baked cookie-brownies. My friend, Lisa, came over. She made enchiladas. I can't spell Spanish works. We ate them; they were yummy. We ate cookies; also yummy. My roommate, Mary, came home. She ate with us. We three watched Return of the King (not extended version-sigh). We paused it. I decided someone should write a song or a poem about the contradictions that this world tells us we have to do/be/become, such as independent but not self-serving. I couldn't think of any more examples. I think I am not the person to write said poem or song. We finished the movie. I cried. I always cry. Mary went to bed. Lisa left. I took out the trash. Now I blog. It's been a good day.
